Dorsal Ladder Rack
This is a cheeky little solution that we found for another conundrum that customers often asked us about. With the Ranger ‘Limited’ there is the option of either ladder rack or sports bar, of the chrome kind. In fact Ford have even come up with the gloriously over the top description of either ‘Limited 1’ or ‘Limited 2’ where literally the only difference is whether it has a chrome sports bar or not, for an extra £500 plus vat.
Anyway, we digress but you get the idea that with the Limited model there is an option to have a ladder rack, or not. Well with the Wildtrak model there isn’t the option. The low profile sports bar, which is standard with the Wildtrak, looks wonderful and is colour coded with the other parts such as wing mirrors and grill. However, you aren’t getting a ladder resting on it. And sometimes you might want to carry a ladder, or a surf board, or some shelves and so on. Well we discovered the Dorsal when trying to solve our own problems of transporting a paddle board. It basically fits around the tailgate, has a padded section on the top and an attachment for securing a load. Problem solved if you want a temporary solution to carrying a length of something but don’t want to lose the sports bar. We import the Dorsal from the United States and carry stock to avoid a lengthy lead time.
